Carol trained as an Art Therapist, doing her undergraduate degree at Southeast Missouri State University in art, psychology, and sociology, then receiving her graduate degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. During her graduate school days, she worked as an Activity Aide at Western Missouri Mental Health Center in adolescent psychiatry for four years. While completing her graduate degree, she began twenty-three years of work as the Art Therapist on the Mental Health Unit of Shawnee Mission Medical Center. In 1990 Carol began to do some part-time private practice work with Olathe's Associates in Family Care, then joining Lifeline Counseling Center in 1993. As the position at Shawnee Mission came to an end in 2005, she was able to devote her full attention to serving through Lifeline.

Carol works with women and older female adolescents addressing most women’s issues including mood disorders, body image, trauma recovery, self-esteem and development of healthier relationships. In addition to informational approaches, non-traditional basic art use and EMDR are available options towards digesting pain and learning more workable life skills.
